At what temperature does the MP base actually start to melt? And how cool does it/can it get before it starts to set up? I'm talking about the clear.

All things being equal (soaps are properly cured, soaps are allowed to air dry between uses), do MP and CP soap disolve at the same rate? It I were to make a layered soap with MP and CP, would my MP disolve faster and my layered soap then be just pieces of CP?

What's the rate of usage on micas for MP? I have some gold glitter mica and I'm not sure how much to use for a seriously sparkly look.

I have ideas, yes I do . . . .

And there will be pictures, unless this turns out to be a huge disaster.

Thanks.

Anita

Hi Anita

I don't know at what temperature m and p begins to melt. I use a micro wave. It starts to gel at 125 or lower. HTH.

This is a huge experiment. How much mica you choose to use is up to the you and the look you are after. Make a few 5 oz bars and experiment. That is the name of the game and the fun part too! Once you do an experimental bar you will see that m and p in a CP bar are diminished at a different rate of speed during use. SO you will see outlines of the m and p. This too is part of the experiment and the look you are after.

Good luck and happy soaping.

I just poured melted MP over thinly traced CP and not let it gel. Find out what works the best for you. There is no wrong or right way to do this.
