Hi all -

I just got a question about seperating MP layers on :

Hello Anne Marie !! i love your soap, I'm French, sorry for my language.

I do, me too, cosmetics "home Made".

When i do soap Melt and poor, and i do two colors, my soap is separate. Do you know why ??

This is what I told her but I figured ya'll might have different and better answers. Got anything to add?

I suspect that your layers are separating either because the soap isn't poured soon enough after the first layer is poured - or the soap is older and more dried out. The older the soap is, the less the layers tend to stick together (in my experience).

...or she didn't spray alcohol on the solid layer before pouring the next one on top.

Here's what happened when I forgot to do that on the first layer of my rainbow soapsicles!

I have tried to do that before but I didn't have good results. The stuck on layer just slid off during the first use. Here's a project I tried that with:

The next time I made this style I made that top layer a part of the bar instead, which worked better:

I think the effect is the same.

I wound up selling those "oopsicles" for $2.00 each on Etsy. Normally they're $8!

i always tell everyone to think of alcohol as glue for M&P.
