Hi,
Does anyone know how this soap is made? Is it folded by adding glycerin to the base?
Can it be made using a M&P base?
Any ideas?
Thanks, :?:

i would make this similar to how you make jelly rolls. just don't roll it so tight.

here's at tute that Anne Marie put together on her blog for jelly rolls:

If you pour MP soap onto a cookie sheet, then wait just enough so the soap is still pliable, you can fold it any way you like.

Thanks for the info.
When I tried rolling this like in the video, it would not roll. Maybe I didn't make it thick enough or set long enough before I tried to roll it. I had a MESS!
This is why I was wondering about adding more glycerin.
I love both of your sites - Sabastian's Nook and Ginger's Garden - Very nice!

Yes you're right add more glycerin (but not too much!) Depending on the base I use I will add more glycerin if I am rolling or manipulating the soap into a shape.

I have tried this method, the soap was only about a half inch thick, maybe less than that. The only thing that happened is that when I tried to fold the soap, the soap broke in every fold. I added glycerin so I don't know what happened!! Was there a specific MP base that I was supposed to use?

You have to fold or roll it when it is still warm - once it has set up properly it will just snap! Don't ask how I know lol

I did this one and didn't use any glycerin. Experiment with different temps and you will find the sweet spot.

The photo isn't the best quality but the soap is fun to do, and is very popular.

I love your color. How do they hold up with Use? Do they fall apart Quickly?

These fit in the hand lovely and they hold up well. They wear with the water and change colors so they are very pretty when used.
