Teach Soap

I have two consumers who want spice scented soaps. I know you have to use less of spice due to skin burns. Please tell me what you all use----what scent and amounts, Please. I thank you in advance

i would use fragrance oils for this. has many yummie spicey fragrance oils to choose from. in this case, the FO is used at .25 ounces per 1 pound of soap.

if you wanted to mix culinary spices like nutmeg in for added texture, i would use 1/4 teaspoon per 1 pound of soap. this will give a nice look, but it will not color or scent the soap.

you need either a Frangrance Oil (FO) or Essential Oil (EO) to fragrance soap.

What sort of spice smell are you wanting? Also, I have to disagree with dragonlady on this. I use nutmeg as a natural colorant in my soap and it will make your soap an earthy brown if the right amount is used. As for scent, I use nutmeg to accompany other fragrances to give a really nice smell.

thanks so much for your assistance with this. the two consumers happen to be my doctor and his nurse. I have given them soap for Christmas before and they seemed happy with it, but told me this week they like spice. I want the soap to be unqiue and a pleasant surprise for them.

I have used the aribian spice FO from BB and it is a favorite of nearly everyone who is gifted with it. I use it at .5 oz per pound of oil. It does discolor to a very nice brown. And it will accelerate trace alittle bit so I do not try to swirl too many colors with this one. I did a mix of this scent and almond for the fall holidays and it blended very well.
My mistake... I thought I was in the CP section. I have not used this in M&P but I do not see why it would not turn out as well!
