I would say almost anything is worth trying, and Etsy can be really worth it. I started out selling there and have built a "real" business because of it (although I have recently shifted to selling only on my own site for retail orders).
If you do start an Etsy shop, I suggest getting involved in forums and chat rooms if you have time, making a really nice banner, creating a good profile, and take pictures that say "quality." Pictures are so critical for making a good impression online.
There is a lot of competition in B&B on Etsy, but don't be intimidated by that. Just jump in there and give it a shot for a couple of months. You never know!
