Teach Soap

Hi, I have been working with MP soaps for over 4 months now and have to say that some soaps are nearly perfect, but others turn out like this after couple of days (with packaging).



I am using Oatmeal MP, heated in the microwave to a point that you have to stir couple of mins in order to melt the whole contents (not over heating it). I have always poured @ around 125 degrees and have never exceeded a 3% fragrance ratio. This is happening with clear, ultra white and all M&P bases that I have used.

I'll be honest, I can't really see your issue over the glare of the camera...

It looks like it bleeds oil. That is not the glare, it is how it actually looks. Let me know if other pics would help solve this mystery.

How quickly do you package your soap? I have had some fragrances sweat with certain bases after they have set. To avoid this issues, I usually let my M&P sit out in the air in a clean area for two to five days before packaging. Just make sure its an area that is dirt free.

Sophie... are you adding anything other than FO? I ask because it looks like oil weeping out, not the glittery glycerin sweat I get on occasion...

Hey, Sophie, how are your soaps doing? We had torrential rains & disgusting humidity on Thursday, & I've had the de-humidifier running non-stop...

Thank you all for the replies!!!. We have come to the conclusion that it is humidity what is causing this nasty effect. This is what we did;

1. Made 2 small MP samples, packaged them and left them in an uncontrolled area (in the open)

2. Made 2 small MP samples, packaged them and placed them inside a shoe box with Patchouli Roots

3. Waited 1wk


Results:

The ones inside the shoe box are intact and the ones left in the open were horrible.
