Went into a little shop here in New Jersey and found some 'natural' soap that came from Europe. I cannot figure out how the heck it works. Doesn't have lye or glycerin. Makes no sense to me. The only thing i can figure out is that its a lotion bar claiming to be 'soap'....that or they aren't labeling all their ingredients. I thought that was required in Europe?

The only other thing they did that intrigued me was they claimed to have scented their soap with Chai Tea. Do you think this is just the tea/herb mixture? I play with a lot of herbs and this truly stumps me since - once again - no area in the ingredients for the herbs or tea.

My theory is that they are being misleading and using a 'chai' fragrance with M&P, but it has that unique texture of lye soap. I've considered getting a bar to experiment, but I'm always scared purchasing anything that i can't figure out before hand. Your thoughts?

Does it have any ingredients at all? European rules and regs are much stricter than the US. Is it possible that it's a European homecrafter that imports their stuff into the US? If it's a very small business, it would most likely bypass customs.

It did. I will have to copy it on my IPhone and let everyone else see, if I can remember. It very might have gone through customs. Was also surprised to see that it wasn't wrapped in anything other than a simple cigar wrap like thing (Having a brain fart, can't remember what they are called ^^;; ). Just seems a bit suspicious in my opinion. I would just like to figure out how they get the chai smell since it did smell wonderful.

Isn't a chai blend usually some blended spices like cinnamon, cardamon and clove?

I was thinking it might be something like that. I may pull out those out and see if I can get that same smell. I think its more to me the curiosity of the 'missing ingredients'. LOL
