Hi there!

I was wondering if anyone had any tips on keeping the dried herbs, seeds, etc for exfoliants...to "stick" to the top of the soap without falling off. Do I wait until the melted soap has reached a thicker trace? TIA!

If you want them to stay on top, I would recommend putting them on the bottom of the mold, making that the top of the soap. I usually use a mortar and pestle to make my herbs finer before placing them in my mp soap.

MP soap base does not reach trace. I agree with putting the herbs on the bottom of your mold. That way, that will be your top when you unmold.

I've let the top layer get a little thicker then poured dried seeds, beads, etc on the top pressing them down - but not too hard! It works best if you stir the top layer as it cools that way you don't get a skin on it and it stays a little "tacky". It also give you some peaks on the top which can give a nice effect. I always put HEAPS on because not all of it sticks! Hope that helps!
