Hey all,

I know that ingredient labelling questions have been asked many many times, but do you think I can actually find the right threads at the moment? Anyways I have a possible shop that wants to sell some of my soaps. Unfortunately that means I have to actually come up with some labels for them. I was attempting to do labels this morning but it is hard! I have a list of the ingredients included in the Melt and Pour bases from my suppliers but I got confused when it comes to labelling colours. I am in Australia so some local knowledge would be helpful but I'd imagine our legislation is similar to others. When it comes to colours am I correct in thinking I need correct names for them? eg for this one http://www.aussiesoapsupplies.com.au/Li ... r-712.html I need to find out the actual name of the red colour used, or can I simple list "Carmine Red Liquid Pigment Dispersion"? Same question for micas such as this http://www.aussiesoapsupplies.com.au/Mi ... r-963.html

Thank you very much for any help.

I only put pigment dispersion (colour) or Mica (colour) on mine probably not the right thing but a label can only be so long and it hasn't been a problem so far but l only sell in a minimal way not to shops.
"Chemicalx" has her own selling website so she would know what the rules are in Australia maybe you could email her .

I would love to know too! I don't think our laws are as strict as USA or UK with soap but I'm not really sure!

So Pauline is this right?
Clear Base: Coconut Oil, Palm Oil, Safflower Oil, Glycerine (kosher, of vegetable origin), Purified Water, Sodium Hydroxide (saponifying agent), Sorbitol (moisturizer), Sorbitan oleate (emulsifer), Soy bean protein (conditioner)
Opaque Base: Coconut Oil, Palm Oil, Safflower Oil, Glycerine (kosher, of vegetable origin), Purified Water, Sodium Hydroxide (saponifying agent), Sorbitol (moisturizer), Sorbitan oleate (emulsifer), Soy bean protein (conditioner), Titanium Dioxide (mineral whitener used in opaque soaps)
I've just been putting "Glycerine soap base" because I couldn't find an ingredient list!

Heya PurpleMolly

I emailed Aussie Soap supplies ages ago and they sent me the ingredients. They actually have an entire document that includes all the ingredients for all their bases. They are the same as what you have however they word them differently:

"Natural Melt and Pour Soap Base Clear - Saponified coconut oil, palm oil, caster oil, safflower oil, glycerine, purified water, sorbitol, sorbitan oleate, soybean protein"

And similar for the other bases.

Thanks for the other help guys. I'll comment more later. Must go now.
