Good evening everyone. I have a little bit of a dilemma, I made, or attempted to make some sugar scrub cubes using a recipe that I have used before without the same results:

3oz of melt and pour
3oz of olive oil
7oz of white sugar
fragrance oil

I used grapeseed oil instead of olive, used white mp like I did in the past, same amount of sugar, for the fo I used BB's Toasted Rice. Well I melted the soap then added the grapeseed oil and I basically got soap on a stick which was weird to me because the only time this has ever happened to me was with CP soap. So I melted it again and noticed that the oil was not dispersing with the soap and fo. Stirred and then re-melted it again then added the sugar and the oil still did not want to cooperate and just sat on top so I stirred it again then poured into the mold and I am sitting here watching the oil sitting on top of the soap. What did I do wrong?

That's very strange since usually grapeseed disperses in water much better than olive oil.

My sugar scrub recipe is pretty similar to yours:

4 oz mp
2 oz grapeseed
6 oz sugar

I just use a little less sugar & grapeseed.

Sonya, that's a lot of olive oil for that amount of MP. Have you tried just halving it?

Thank you soapbuddy and Genny, I figured out what happened! I just needed to re-melt everything back to a liquid form in order for me to be able to stir, blend and then pour. The reason for the amount of olive oil is that this is the one way (in my opinion) that the sugar scrub cubes will keep their shape, and when you go in the shower they will smoosh with ease and not be like little hard pieces of soap that you cannot work with. The only mishap after I figured this out was that I guess because of the olive oil, my purple sugar scrub cubes became green! Go figure!
