Teach Soap

I watched the Soap Cupcake with Whipped Frosting video and have a question. Anne-Marie uses 1 ounce of FO for the frosting portion of the cupcake (using 16 ounces soap base). I thought the usage rate for 1 pound of soap base is 1/4 ounce. I'm a little confused by this. Can someone please explain?

It depends on the strength of the FO. I use 0.5 to 0.7 oz. per lb of base.

Good eye, good question! When we kept the normal usage rate for the soap, the final product (which is like 3 pounds of whipped air soap by volume) just didn't smell that good (or really at all) so we overscented it for this particular project (the frosting). You can use less if you want =)
