I am uninspired with my packaging. I wrap my soap up individually in cello paper with a printed label to say the name of the fragrance and the ingredients, and this has worked well so far but im trying to become a bit more professional and this just isnt appealing to me anymore. This is M&P soap, and it has cocoa butter in it, if i dont wrap it will it dry out? Everywhere i read says that you HAVE to wrap m&p up. I would rather leave it nekkid if i could with maybe some string around it with a tag to say ingredients.

I was wondering if anyone had any great packaging ideas?

I am also working on some cute life size cup cake soaps and i have great plans to package them into individual cup cake boxes i found on etsy.

Hi :)

I know how you feel, as I'm going through the same thing at the moment. I personally hate packaging in general, mainly because of the environmental impact and also sometimes it can be a nightmare to actually take off of the product! So I decided to keep the wrapping/packaging of my soaps to be as minimal as possible. But that unfortunately limits the creativity of packaging. So I don't have any ideas for you I'm afraid, but I'm all ears to see if anyone else has! Saying that, I'm sure Soapylove posted a really cool link somewhere to a gallery on flikr which showcased loads of photos of soap packaging. I tried searching for it just now, but couldn't find it...can anyone else help?

Hi Goddessbec!

Here is the link to a great Flickr group dedicated to soap packaging: http://www.flickr.com/groups/soappackaging/

Regarding wanting soap to be naked, you can find Low Sweat or "CP" type melt and pour bases that are less likely to sweat if unwrapped, but MP soaps can tend to shrink in strange ways if they start to dry out.

I hope you can find some fresh inspiration! :)

I have a page in the June issue of Let's Get Soapy dedicated to unique MP soap packaging. Maybe you would like to check that out, too: http://www.soapylove.com/item.php?item_ ... egory_id=2

Hi biz48 -
I use cello bags for my Soapy Pops, my Typography Bars are shrink wrapped and boxed, and my "boxed soaps" are made in clamshells. Packaging is tough with melt and pour, that's true!
