Teach Soap

Hi everyone! I wanted to say that I am so impressed by all of your beautiful creations. I have placed my order with Bramble Berry. It cannot get here fast enough for me!

I have a question about seeds for watermelon soaps. I have a good idea of how to make the melon part of the soap but cannot think of a way to make the seeds. Is there any issue with using poppy seeds? I haven't looked, but I should be able to find these at my local grocery store. Are these safe to use? I thought they may also serve as an exfoliant?

What are your thoughts?

I've seen poppy seeds used in soaps and I would think if the seeds you buy at the store are suitable for eating, they should be okay for soap. I'm thinking about making a watermelon soap but I want to use kiwi seeds. fromnaturewithlove.com has kiwi seeds for sale. I like the idea of a bigger seed for the watermelon seeds.

Poppy seeds might be too scratchy. Could you pour into a straw, freeze it, then slice the straw open?
Then you could cut it into small pieces.

soapbuddy, thanks for the welcome! EXCELLENT idea with the straw! I'm definitely going to try that! I'll post pictures of how they turn out.
