 Post subject: Suspension additive?

I know some brands sell suspension MP soaps. I was wondering however if you could add something yourself to make it a suspension formula. One of the brands said it's "suspender" was silica. I've tried letting it cool before adding my bits and bobs for a more even distribution and it just glumps up on me and is a pain.

Suggestions?

Me too! I have never found one in 16 years of soapmaking but there has got to be one. One of these days, I'll find it. I've seen many, many promising additives only to find that they don't work in real life.

If anyone has any leads, let me know and I'll chase 'em down. =)

Well what about a superfine silica? Or has anyone tried emulsifying wax? It is supposed to create a thicker product - so would a small portion in MP create a thicker environment for suspending products? Hmmm. If only we could know the ingredients of suspension soaps to know what to use.
