Teach Soap

I would like to try and make a peppermint candy soap by making a soap curl to go in a tube mold. Does anyone know at what temperature can I fold my soap to make a curl? The video I watched did not give temp. just said if it's too cold it won't bend and will be brittle. Hmmm...that doesn't help much.

I would say you can fold it as soon as it has cooled and solidified enough to handle. Most of the projects I've seen recommend not waiting very long before you roll the sheet once it has solidified, and some recommend adding a tablespoon or two of glycerin to make the soap more flexible. Of course, if it does crack when you roll it, or if it doesn't roll how you want it to, you could always chop it up and melt it gently again...

I folded the soap curl at 84 degrees. It was okay and will do. I'm thinking about 90 degrees the next time around as it will allow me to fold it just a little tighter.
