Teach Soap

I guess I'm just a little frustrated that my "inventory" is taking so long to grow. I wanted to do a craft show in Oct, but I don't think I'll have enough soaps made by then. (I only do MP for now).

Still, I'd rather take my time, then rush and not have it come out right. But I'm just curious how you guys produce enough soap to sell on Etsy and do craft shows as well.

It took me a while to get all the molds that I have now. Some, I have 4 of, or 6 of specifically for MP soap. I can make about 50 per day with all the MP molds that I have.

Soapbuddy, that sounds like mold heaven to me. My wish list just keeps getting longer and longer. But with so many stinkin' cute molds out there, what's a girl to do.???

I have a long wish list too. Sigh....

I have a fairly small booth in a craft store, and very limited supplies here...I've been doing it off and on for years (MP and CP). I don't have the equipment at the moment to make loaves like I used to, so I've been sticking with basic melt and pour in a pvc pipe with loofah (I know that sounds so...backyard...but it works!) and three basic molds. I make and sell around 30 bars per week - which isn't a lot, and right now the majority of it is going to savings so I can get back to building up my little business! I'd like to get enough inventory to get an etsy store going.

Delila, selling 30 bars of soap sounds like a lot to me. .....Kudos to you for being so creative. Good luck building your business back up.

it's hard not to buy molds when there's so much variety - but I do stick to the 4-cavity types..I'm not generating soap on any of those levels...but people ask me more for gift basket variety so that's why I stick to the molds I have
