I have been using LCP White melt & pour which l really like but the Clear is not available in Australia and International postage on heavy items like bases adds $76 to $25 worth of base so that makes it rather expensive to import.
My problem is... can l use an ordinary clear with the LCP opaque :?: I have visions of having half the soap being fine and the other where clear is used sprouting little glycerine blisters everywhere. The clear would be from Aussiesoapsupplies and l think it all comes from Brambleberries but is it as good as LCP in reducing sweating :?:

Bump.

Hiya, Pops1!

I don't have an answer for you about the sweating issue, but I was wondering the same thing a few weeks ago about using the two bases together. BB was out of the regular clear base, and I had some regular white BB house base that I wanted to use. I opted to get the LCP clear over the bulk clear, but I was afraid to mix the regular base with the LCP base. My fear was that the regular base, having a higher glycerin content, would disintegrate faster than the LCP base, which has a lower glycerin content. I was afraid of eventual layer separation due to the different bases wearing out at different rates. Just to keep things uniform, I ordered the LCP clear and the LCP white. I asked BB about layer separation, though, and was told that combining the two bases should be fine.

I hadn't considered whether or not the regular-base part of the soap would be more susceptible to glycerin dew than the LCP parts. That's a good point. I always wrap mine in plastic wrap anyway.

I haven't tried layering clear with opaque, but I did mix the two with no problems.

I have layered different soaps with no problems. It can be a little tricky though, they are a little more likely to not adhere to one another. I also do not have troubles with sweating where I live. You can always try a little 'test bar' and see how it goes.
