Hi Soapbuddy,

i am eager to try some other forms of soapmaking i have some books but what would be the least complicated for a beginner ie hp cp?

i have nothing but fragrance oils not sure what to invest in.....

Ok, here is what I would do:

Castor Oil 0.7 oz. 4.38%
Coconut Oil 3.5 oz. 21.88%
Olive Oil 5.3 oz. 33.12%
Tallow 6.5 oz. 40.62%
Total Weight 16 ozs.
You will need 4 to 6 fluid ounces of liquid. I would use distilled water. You will need 2.2 ozs. of lye for a 7% superfat.

OR
If you can't find tallow, sub it for 6.5 ozs. of soybean. Your soap will be softer initially this way, but it should harden up over time.

Also be aware that anytime you change any of the oils in your recipe, you will need to recalculate your recipe.
