I purchased a puzzle and crayon soap mold, here's the link:

http://www.goplanetearth.com/molds_basi ... tml#crayon

I made a few batches a couple weeks ago, using Life of the Party clear glycerin from Michaels (great price with 40% off coupon ;))) and now the ends of the soap are curling up and alomst appear to be drying out. Is it the M&P I'm using? Any suggestions?

thanks,
Malia

Where did you get the MP? What else are you adding to it?

The M&P is from Michaels craft store. The brand is Life of the Party clear glycern. I'm adding soap color and correct amout of FO. Most of my fragrances come from BB. These are thin molds, mabe it's might be the M&P???.. Maybe there's a better M&P for thinner molds?? I don't know..

It's the MP. The craft store variety is not such good quality.

I've also noticed that if you leave soap out, unwrapped, it starts to dry out and curl (if the soaps are thin).

That's probably what went wrong with it. What's the best clear M&P to use for this project? And what would be a good way to wrap it? Clear box? That's what I was thinking, but I'm worried about sweating.

Thanks,
Malia

Malia,
Try our forum owner's MP. You can buy it here: http://www.brambleberry.com/meltandpour.aspx
If there is any moisture where you are, I would wrap the soap tightly as soon as you can.

I agree about the soap base from Michael's. It dries out if you leave it out (unwrapped). I used it myself when I first started learning to do MP, but after trying Brambleberry's I noticed a vast different between the two bases :)

I guess using the 'cheap stuff' from michaels was good practice. I will order some clear M&P from BB.

Thank you for the replies!

I will post pics when I have some finished with the good M&P.

Now, suggestions for frangrances? What is a really good liguid soap dye? And does anyone know where to get the clear boxes cheaper than what they are askimg from Planet Earth?

I would try shrink wrap instead of boxes. Boxes will smudge over time with the soap inside.
If you still want a box try here: http://www.nashvillewraps.com/
or Paper Mart: http://www.papermart.com/

I agree on the shrink wrap. Melt and pour soap that is not sealed can get moisture beads and "sweat". Especially if you live in a humid area. :D
