Teach Soap

Hi.
I'm making my first attempt to post a soap I just made. I'm coming up with a few designs to sell my soap at my kids carnival. They attend a French school so I think you will all see the connection with my design :+}

Two comments -
1. I have to give credit to SoapyLove because Debbie taught a class at The Nova Studio in Pt. Richmond, Ca. near where I live that I took back in December. I got my first taste of learning how to use the loaf mold and transformed a recipe she provided for neapolitan soap into The French Flag

2. I realized (I maybe getting to critical of myself here) but since the loaf mold is a bit wider at the top (since I have to turn the soap after cutting it to make it look like the flag so the stripes are vertical) - I may reverse the order I pour the layers going forward so when I turn it the wider side is blue.

I'm still trying to figure the forum features out. I meant to post this in 'flaunt your stuff' but I must not have been paying attention. Next time I'll get it in the right topic. I can't seem to obviously use the user control panel to delete the first post. Nor can I post the other photo in it's packaging as I'm having trouble with the resizing.

I'm still working on packaging but I think I'm on the right track for this event in May. There is so much to do and learn - but I'm totally having so much fun.

Thanks Debbie for trying. I'll try uploading a different design in flaunt your stuff using your instructions. In answering you Q (from my flickr pictures - which I'm still playing with and may delete and reshoot) - I used rasberry, coconut and blueberry fragrance. Thanks for you feeback. I really appreciate it.

Thanks for your comments. I'm such a Francophile that it will forever be a French flag to me (tee hee).
And of course my packaging for this marche (with a tag of the Eiffel Tower) creates no confusion between France and Astropops

I will say that Soaplove has the market cornered with her soapscicles and your memory of astropops.

Hi all. Just wanted to show you how I was going to 'recover' the abundance of French Flags I made for the kids faire. I was surprised that all my other soap designs were winners but the Flag didn't resonate like I thought. I found out afterwards that their flag is not treated in their country in the same manner as we have here with lots of 'flag waving' (etc..) - so to prepare for my next fair on July 4th I've done the following to it (turned it counter clockwise from how it was in the bag originally - see below and I changed out the eiffel tower tag I had for this July 4th one) in hopes I can sell the rest of what I have -



Just thought you might find this as humorous as I do - what is that old addage - turn lemon into lemondade.
