Teach Soap

I never thought about insurance until I read about it here. If I'm selling soap made by someone else, do I still need to get insurance? Do I just need to get it regardless of what I'm selling, jewelry, soap, nice bottles, etc.? Thanks

Insurance is a good idea no matter what you're selling. You never know what a customer is going to do with your products (how they'll use them, where they'll put them, the conditions they will store them in).

Indie Beauty Network and The Soap Guild both have insurance programs for under $500/year that cover up to $1,000,000 in liability and RLI Insurance has a policy that is for very small businesses that runs around $250 (or so) per year. Those would be good places to start.

Just to let you know, I did check out State Farm and they do have a policy. In my area, it is roughly $30/month, which I feel is well worth it, considering it covers liability AND product replacement should something happen to my many thousands of dollars of "stuff" - it covers both my jewelry business and soap business... supplies, product and liability.
