Teach Soap

Hello I bought some glyserin white soap and melted it for my frosting on cupcakes but it went very hard after 3 second and was unable to pipe it what did I do wrong what caused that to happen and am I suppose to add anything else to it so it won't get so hard? I'm new at this so any help would be appreciated

In my experience, a little bit of sodium laureth sulfate really does the trick for it. It keeps it pliable long enough but actually dries set. What I see a lot of people do is actually use dish detergent, which is composed of about 10-20% SLES, water, and benzelsulphonic acid to do it. While I don't encourage the use of DDBSA[benzylsulphonicacid] on skin, it does do the trick in a pinch. I just prefer SLES-30 instead.

I don't use sodium laureth sulfate at all. It's a harsh detergent and a lab made chemical. I cater to the more natural crowd and they would not accept this ingredient.

I make my own melt n pour. I don't use SLS, SLES or a surfactant like cocamidopropyl betaine. It can be done and it's not that difficult, just time consuming.
