I have a few soap molds I like to make by filling in colors in the designs before pouring. When I was using BB's clear glycerin or hemp (which is SFIC maybe?) I had no problems with unmolding, probably because those are a pretty hard soap base. I bought a large block of Crafters Choice clear because I needed a base that is very clear for other embeds, and wanted to save money on a bulk purchase. It's a lot softer and stickier and I now have problems unmolding, the parts I fill in first stick to the mold and the bar pops out without the design on it. I have tried putting them in the freezer, and that works about 50% of the time.
So, I have some stearic acid, and I mixed about 1/8th tsp into a colored soap (about 1 C.) that I design with to see if it will pop out easier. This was just old bars that were ugly that I remelted to experiment. I remember reading on here somewhere that you can use stearic acid in M&P, does anyone know the ratio to use? On BB it says it's used in soaps at a .5% rate, but I am guessing that is for CP?
