Teach Soap

My apologies to all the pros, as I'm very new at soaping (but love it!). I have a silly question that's has left me wondering for some time. Because I can't find the answer online, thought I'd better ask here. So, if MP soap is soap without us having to wait for the saponification process, why is it that the olive oil base looks different from olive oil CP. The melt&pour OO base is semi-clear, but not the OO soap made using the CP method, even if we were to use 100% OO.

MP base uses base oils like CP does, but the difference is that MP uses alcohol to make the soap clear. Some MP base also contains glycol and surfactants.

Thank you, Soapbuddy. So my next question is, why couldn't they make the soap opaque by not adding the alcohol? I know there are different kinds of alcohol and some add the moisturizing feel, but whenever people read or hear that a product contains alcohol, most of them freak out, and you can explain till the cows come home, and yet they'll give you the "I'm not convinced" look.
I buy the MP bases from Bramble Berry, and the alcohol is not listed in the ingredients, yet the base is basically clear, see-through.

There are different ways to make clear MP base. Some of the ingredients for MP base are sugar solution, propylene glycol, Sorbitol Solution, Surfactants, Myristic Acid or Triethanolamine (TEA). As you can see some MP bases use no oils that you would normally use for CP soap. You can't just make the soap opaque. CP soap is opaque naturally. Opaque MP base normally has titanium dioxide. That's what makes the base opaque or white. MP base remelts easily and turns into a liquid when heated. CP soap can't be remelted into a liquid once made. You can rebatch CP soap, but it will look more like mashed potatoes.
