I made some UFO soaps yesterday. I used ultramarine pink mixed in glycerine and Super Pearly Mica. The fragrance was BB Strawberry Surplus. The base is the BB House Clear.

This morning when I left for the market the soaps were light pink. By noon they had turned a very bright orange. :shock: It was wicked hot today (98 in the shade) but they were not sitting in the sun.

I checked the leftover soap from this batch tonight. It has a very slight orange cast to it. My workshop is in the garage which gets a little toasty in the summer.

So did the heat cause the color to morph or is a weird reaction with the FO?

Well, who am I to argue with the experts! :D

The funny thing is that the FO is clear, so I really didn't expect it to affect the color. Definitely wasn't counting on bright orange! Guess I will have to order the regular Strawberry and see if it behaves. Glad I only bought 1oz of the Surplus!
