I'm really annoyed with the weather right now here in Victoria. I've made my soaps with LCP clear base, and this morning, wake up to find they have sweat during the night or this morning. Thinking next time, I will get them out of the kitchen and into the laundry with the window open.

I've made soap that look like toffee's, i don't know if anyone ever had them at their cake stalls at school (for me this was back in 1990's), or made them atr home for a kids party? Every cake stall we held, a mum used to make toffee's and set them in paper cupcake cups, and the kids went crazy for them

Considering the base is LCP I was thinking about packaging them in paper cupcake cups, but now I'm not so sure with the weather and so much moisture in the air.

purplemolly - lol! i was scared to eat them too, i think i only ever bought them once, i don't think i got through it all and ended up chucking it away. I wanted to decorate the top with jojoba beads, but i just can't afford to get the different colours at the moment, so i've left them without.

pops1 - I actually don't think it's the weather inside the house, I think it was the gas heating that may have made them sweat. i wiped down the tops and they haven't sweat since. :) LCP base is great to work with, I can really see the difference with this base, and to the what i suspect was low quality base.

I'm not sure if there is another thread for this or whether I should start one but I'm keen to share all of our online contact information so we can keep in touch outside the forum. I seem to be on Twitter & Facebook more than the forum but that could just be me :P

...I think that's everything.

I'm just very excited to meet so many Aussies :D

I think that's a fantastic idea!! A Facebook page would be perfect - we could all catch up and check out answers and questions that impact on us alone ... Would LOVE to have the same resources here as they have in America ... but don't think it's likely to happen anytime soon!!
Who is willing to start it up??? I'll be in it!!! :D

Hi, even though I haven't been part of this thread, I have been watching it closely because of the Aussie content, and wanted to add my voice that it would be great to have a dedicated Aussie forum (especially for melt and pour). I live in Perth and make soaps only for my family at the moment, but I am totally addicted to it :D

Ok l can start a Facebook group what would you like to call it.
Calling for suggestions.....
I think we need to call it melt & pour something rather than M & P because unless you are a forum addict like us you wouldn't use the abbreviations and it would be nice to pick up any other soapers that are floating around ,we also need to have soap or soapers in the title

Aussie Melt & Pour Soapers

Australian Melt & Pour soap forum (very formal)

Melt & Pour soap addicts of Australia

Okay, well for starters, I dont think you should be making it specifically melt and pour soapers, because in oz there's people wh only make cold process and hot process soap.

so I think the best name to give the group would be something like "Aussie Soapmakers" or "Australian Soapers" or "Soapmaking Aussies" or "Soapmakers in Australa please join"

I thought the idea was to have a Melt & Pour group since that's what brought us together ,there are other CP & HP groups from Australia on there but hardly any for M & P.I am on a forum that had both M & P and CP mixed in together, since the CP soapers far outweigh the M P soapers we got swamped by the CP people ,l asked if it would be possible to have a Melt & Pour section and they obliged which is great now l don't have to wade through a lot of threads that hold no interest for me.MP & CP are worlds apart ,different problems ,different techniques.
What does everybody else think???
