What does SFIC mean? Also, are the LCP bases better for use on the body as opposed to regular MP bases? I want soap that can be used in the shower or is gentle enough to be used on the face...is the clear MP base from BB good for this or would I be better off with a goatsmilk base or LCP base?

The LCP works the same was as the regular base, it just holds up better in hot and humid climates.

I order my bases from BB because it's cheaper for me to buy the 10-pound blocks instead of by-the-pound from a local supplier (both offer SFIC). My favorites are goat milk, Shea, honey, and hemp.

and when I melt it, it has a really funny smell. Its not BB. Has anyone else had any problems with any shea butter bases?

I've only had a bad smell if I've overheated and scorched the base. Ick! Doesn't LOOK different, but it smells bad and doesn't behave normally.

Do all MP bases need to be wrapped in plastic wrap/shrink wrap except LCP? To prevent moisture from escaping?

Even LCP will sweat. It just sweats less in high humidity than standard base. My house is 16% humidity and LCP will sweat. After a day or two there are big ole beads of glycerin all over it. Have to wrap it too!

Will hand sealers work in place of saran wrap and a heat gun? I'm trying to figure out a method that is more efficient/looks better than the saran wrap method.
