Insurance is good to have if you are selling soaps because you never know what could happen.

To get a license, start by looking up the requirements for your state for a small business.

I agree with the advice about getting insurance. Before I started selling any products (even at craft shows), I incorporated my business and purchased liability insurance. Also, check with a tax specialist in your state - you may have to pay sales tax.
