This is the last one from me for a while as we're moving at the end of the week, and I still havn't packed. EEP!

This one is Winter Wonderland. (Same name fragrance). The centre is clear blue with silver glitter, surrounded by the white. I have one on my desk permanantly, and it smells beeeeeeutiful! LOL!

And that's it for the moment. It'll be a while before I can show anything again - moving is a very time consuming activity!

MissRhosie- Thanks for the compliment. I'm trying another swirl again. That last one was a 'redo rescue' so let's see where thi sone goes... I'll post when ready. I really don't know what I'm doing on this but I guess it's all about 'experimentation'....

Honey and Soap Slice - you both amaze me.

If we keep posting at the same time we may need to combine our names into one so everyone can just call us out as "HoneySliceSoap" -

SoapByTheSlice - good luck on your move.

 @ HoneySliceSoap!

I think there's a huge amount of value in experimentation, its how you learn your medium and feel far more confidant in what you're doing (and how you're doing it).

Hi all. All of you are a true inspiration to keep on keeping on...
A Little history...
So when I first found this forum I was preparing for my kids school fair. I made an "overabundance" of french flag layer soap. I really thought it was *clever* and the tag I had on it was this cute stamp of the Eiffel tower. Needless to say it actually did not get a great response. I learned later that the level of 'patriotism' for flag waving isn't part of the French personage. Okay so a few weeks later I turn the soap a different direction for a July 4th event and changed the tag. Sady my booth partner and I were not situated in the best row and got rid of a few...but I'm still left with enough to rebatch another loaf. Fortunately my husband had a friend who was into Le Tour so he bought 6 more off me. Slowly slowly they are disappearing but not fast enough for my speed at this point. Okay so here is what I did....TADA...and hope that it will attract enough buyers on October 4th. It's a combo, rasberry, blueberry, coconut and vanilla cream kind of all mixed but it does still smell good and I added some more fragrance when I recycled...

I probably could have done some more swirling on the sides, but overall I think it has potential!!
Thanks
Hilary

Thanks Soapbuddy. At least they don't look so "French" to me anymore. I think since it lacks any 'meaning' now maybe the last bunch will go!! I'll certainly keep you all posted after October 4th.

OO! I like, I Love, I want!! LOL! Seriously, that is some very seriously good looking soap! I love the way the layers look separate, but are swirled too - what I mean is, I can see the individual colours, as well as the swirls. And that I really like! Nice one, very pretty! :D

Thank you all. I seriously could not do it if I didn't have you all as my 'virtural' cheerleading squad. And giving respectful/constructive feedback when it's needed!! I hope I continue to offer up the same to all of you.

It's been (at first) a strange transition to go from the hustle/bustle of working in a highrise in San Francisco with lots of meetings and deliverables to other people at various levels of corporate org charts into organically starting up my own business. And then now being a "Jane (or Jack for those guys) of all Trades". There are times when it does feel isolating in my little kitchen (remodeled however and a joy to be in) but when I see the results of having fun, creating and staying in touch via this forum - I do get goosebumps.

Warm regards...
Hilary
