Aloha!

I've made my third batch of mini-soaps. The first one was vanilla scent, the second was lavender. My third soap is inspired by my gay co-worker. He is in love with a "lemony-citrusy" bar he gets from his sister that works for a major bath & body retailer. I bought some essential oils from the health food store one block from my home. They were a bit expensive, but with the flashpoints and shipping to Hawaii it may actually have been cheaper than ordering online. Anywhoo....I'm posting some pics here for you to take a look. I'll post more after I pop them out of the molds.

I first made a batch, but the scent was too light...so I remelted added more essential oils of lemon and sweet orange and used one drop of food coloring (I'll have to order colors).

Yes, it can be used in skin products, Peggi. It's sold by BB and is one of the EOs in their Bug-Be-Gone blend.

If you want to look up the different properties of different EOs, a good resource is AromaWeb at .

Thanks, Armi! I don't know why I thought it wasn't skin safe-maybe I was thinking of how strong the candles are, and translating that over to skin. Learn something new every day.... :lol:

I wouldn't want a straight-up citronella soap either, but a lemon-citronella blend sounds interesting. Just remember, ladies, that citrus oils can cause photosensitivity and skin irritation if the citrus oils are cold-expressed and/or used in excess. We actually talked about this under a different thread here on the forum that was started by Peggi. I'll have to check and get back to you all though what the title of the thread was and will try to copy the pertinent info for you, Emily and Haven.

BTW, how are you going to wrap the soaps? PJ has some good tips on shrink wrapping in another thread, if you are curious.
