Teach Soap

I have made this snowman soap for a customer that plans on using them in gift baskets and then reselling them. They are 4 oz bars and I painted them. It was very time consuming. What would you pay for them at a craft show? Take into consideration that it would look better. This is the first one I did and it is not very neat. But the 3rd one I did looks great.

PJ sells her works of art for $7, but for a reseller I'd go $5. Maybe point your customer to PJs website as proof (or is that giving away a trade secret?)

That's just my 2cents, but also know I'm a total cheapskate when it comes to something I know how to make. You could even go higher if your customer isn't net savvy or crafty.

Excel is a wonderful tool for costing, so cost out what it cost you to make those bars, then I generally add what i believe my time to be worth per bar (wich is about $2 a bar). personally i think the little guy you posted is adorable!

Thank you. I asked several opinions on different boards and friends as well and they all said around $6. So I sold them to her for $6. No questions asked, that's what she paid! Now I just need to her to come pick up this order. Thanks everyone.

Yeah, $6 is a good price for them, especially when they are detailed like that.

I'm sorry I missed this. At shows and junk I sell my soaps for $6 each or 3 for 15 (3 or more are $5 each). The reason I do that is because I take soaps I have already sitting in stock to such shows.

It's a lot different to get online orders for singles of 8 different soaps. But I do offer discounts for online buyers too. Then again fancy hotels sell my soaps for $8-10 retail (while I make $4-5 wholesale).

By far 3 for $15 really moves product and when you go to that much work to create something unique and adorable people really appreciate it.

I think you are right PJ. I put them on my website 3 for $15. We will see how they go. I also plan on having some at the craft shows for the same price.
