Teach Soap

So the basic recipe for whipping soap icing is to use M&P and liquid soap (from soapqueen). Can I use natural liquid soap or do I have to use the one with sodium laureth sulfate? I don't have nor prefer surfactants.

I've made this with natural, unscented dish soap and it worked fine. I don't use surfactants in my products either, so I know where you are coming from!

Hi, I have another question about cupcake icing. Has anyone ever tried whipping the soap in a blender instead of a stand mixer? I don't have a stand mixer, and I don't relish the idea of holding a hand mixer for 7-10 minutes waiting for peaks to form. Just being lazy, I guess! If anyone has any input, I'd like to hear!

I have tried so many frosting with the liquid soap added.. it doesnt get very hard and makes it harder to ship just so you know.. I use a cupcake mold and just use the frosted topping and then use some melted soap to stick it on what ever i want.. seems ot work well for me and it is rock hard too .

Why dont you make whipped soap and forget the liquid soap.

Its 80%hard oils
20% soft oils

run it thru lye calc, you can use about anything, just make sure to put coconut or palm kernal with the hard to get your lather and bubbles, anyway,
make your lye solution and set aside
mix the hard oils with a regular hand held blender, if using palm kernal soften it but dont let it melt, anyway, you will end up with a cool whip texture after about a minute. Add the soft oils and do it again, now you have more of a pancake batter mixture, then add your lye, mix for another minute or less, add your color and or frag, mix enough to incorporate, and start frosting your cupcakes. If its still to thin, either wait a few mins or turn the mixer back on for a min. It hardens up like cp soap does after about 3 hours. Sorry everyone, I thought I was on the cp forum.
