Teach Soap

You know this really bums me out. I started reading this whole thread early today and enjoying it so much, coming back between jobs here and WHAT, and then I get to the part that the FBB f is NO LONGER available. Isn't this a thread that needs to be locked down? Since the one of the basic ingredients isn't available?

Is there another recipe available for MandP salt bars? Are there appropriate substitutes available to armigrl's recipe? Thank you kindly.

I'm sure since BB doesn't sell it anymore it would be ok to say you can buy it somewhere else. I have some I have had for a couple of years and am glad I have something to use it in. Plan on trying a couple of bars this weekend.

You are probably right however the consistance of BB products is legendary. Going somewhere else and using another product is asking for failure.

None the less I did find on the inter net the ocean soap recipe I was looking for, the one I miss placed! Woo hoooo. S now I can make some salt water soap up for the drought stricken ocean washing friends I'll be visiting! Thanks all.

Hi everyone! Sorry if I haven't been on the forum for a while - lots of changes at home and at work. Just wanted to update everyone that Brambleberry does offer the foaming bath butter or foaming bath whip as it's called now. So if anyone wants to try my old recipe, BB does offer all the ingredients I used except the table salt. As mentioned previously, using epsom salt or dead sea salt or different MP base (other than BB's like-CP MP base) might result in a softer soap or one that sweats.

If anyone is interested in a lovely salt and MP recipe, SoapyLove has a lovely tutorial using 2 different types of salt and shredded loofah in one of her SoapyLove ezines. She calls it a Floral Spa bar. Her ezines are chock full of info and tutorials. I rarely have a chance to play with soap anymore but when I do, I like to try out her and Anne Marie's recipes. Hope this helps!
