I make a salt shard soap. Only advice is to not make a bar and slice it, but to make sure the salt is well embedded in the soap. Or it sweats very badly.

I melt and colour clear base, and pour over salt and freeze for 15mins. Then I shatter it and embed it in scented clear base. That was a recipe from an old C. Kaila Westerman book that I have and I love it.

Thanks Astra I will try . I was surprized I did not get more replies, I guess it must be the soap to make.

Somewhere in a thread of M&P there is a whole tutorial on how to make salt bars by armygirl. It includes using foaming bath butter & M&P.

Thanks so much Raindrop. It took me forever to find, but I did and I just love it. I am a dummy when trying to search for anything on the
forum. I read search instructions and still cant find anything I search for. I havent smoked for a few days, but think I might after spending
most of the evening trying to search on the forum. :x

Your welcome Janie. Let us know how it works. I haven't tried the slat bar but I may this weekend. I tried using the salt shard & ended up with a heap of slimy salt.

Hi

The saltbar by armygrl definitely works and its lovely to use as well.

Its pretty straightforward if you follow the instructions and you will need to move quickly once you add the salt. Other than that its a very successful mp salt bar.

I still have some from when the original thread was posted.

Found it for ya! I found her name manually (As she spelled girl 'grl', lol) and found what I believe is the thread

I didn't see any other salt bar mentions, but if this isn't it, at least it gives you a link to her profile so you can search it out further.
Hope this helps, and I'll be reading it more closely later. Must run errands now!

Thanks to everyone for all the input. I finally have ingredients to make. I was able to look at Curlycoats2 bars and I just love them, can you give me any advise on how to swirl this mixture in a loaf mold? Also am wondering if I should package like regular melt and pour soap. I use shrink
wrap.
Thanks

This is the salt bar that I make. I use rock salt and just add it in thin layers to the melted base as I go. I then sprinkle a bit more on the top to give it a bit of character!
