Hello I'm getting on my ducks in a row on the legal side of things with my business and I was looking at FDA regulations on labeling ingredients in soap. At the moment I only plan on selling melt and pour. I don't plan on referring to my soap as anything but soap so I don't have to worry about it being a cosmetic however, I do use the "Foaming Butter Whipp" from BB and it does state that there are special regulations on labeling soap with foaming agents in the product. I use it to make soap cupcakes. This is what the FDA said I have to put on the label:

First section:
"Warning - The safety of this product has not been determined". AND
"Caution- Use only as directed" "Excessive use or prolonged exposure may cause irritation to skin and urinary tract. Discontinue use if rash or redness, or itching occur. Consult physician if irriation persists. Keep out of reach of children".

I guess my question is how do you not "scare off" your customer by putting this on your label and still be within FDA regulations? I mean if I read this as a customer I would be afraid to use it as well. I'm thinking seriously now of not use the "Foaming Butter Whip" or ANYTHING with a foaming agent in my products just to keep from having to meet these labeling requirements. Any advice on this matter would be much appreciated.

Use a very small font. You would be surprised how few people actually read the whole label.
