Teach Soap

Where I grew up, we always picked up beach glass and since my soaps come from some type of inspiration in my life (hence, Inspiri) I wanted to make some MP that looks like it. I have the right color and the perfect scent, now I need a little help with something else.

Beach glass has that hazy look, since it's been tumbled through the sand so much. Any idea of what I can either
A) brush the outside of the pieces with to make it look like that
B) add to the MP base so that when it's cut, it already has that hazy/brushed look to it.

I was thinking a shimmery mica of some sort, but wasn't sure if anyone else had experimented with something of this nature.

I'd love to give some of them away as Christmas gifts in the upcoming weeks.

Hi, InspiriBody. I've never tried to make beach glass soap before so I don't have any experience with that, but BB does carry a Super Pearly White mica: http://www.brambleberry.com/Super-Pearl ... P3463.aspx. Maybe something like that would help you achieve the look you want? I wish I could be of more help - maybe someone else has some advice. Sounds like a fun project!

I realize this thread is fairly old but here's a suggestion:

After your soap is set/hardened, unmold/cut (do not allow to set overnight.) Wrap in plastic wrap and allow it to sweat. Remove plastic wrap (should have sweat beads on it) and rub a paper towel over entire bar. This will give you the hazy look.
