Hi - I'm finally to the point where i need to price out all of my soap. What is the best way to calculate? I have read 1.00 - 1.50 per ounce but not sure. Any websites for information i would really appreciate. Thank you.

I generally price $1.00 an ounce unless I am using expensive essential oils or products then I will increase my prices.

you could go here and input all your information. Then I would sell at least 2 times your cost if not 3 so you are making a profit.

We sell at $1.50 an ounce regardless of using essential or fragrance oils. Its all works out in the wash at the end of the month.

We find our clientelle dont care if we use a fragrance/essential oil as long as it smells good to them.

you could also use the soapmaker software to enter your recipes. it will figure the cost of your recipe for you.

you enter your inventory with the price and that's how it calculates it.

easy to use and user friendly. i love this software.

That's the problem with these. It takes forever to make a batch, but it's hard to convince people to use them, and that they do last a long time. For me, the fact that the design changes as the soap is used, not to mention that the surface stays brighter when used, is part of their beauty. I've had one 4 oz bar since Christmas, using it several times a day to wash my hands, and it's still got plenty of use in it. The scent is still good also. It's "Christmas in July" - HA!
