Teach Soap

I am having a little soap making get together at my church for kids. We are going to send the soap to a school in Mexico that needs it and we will need a lot of soap. I want three colors. With the amount of soap I am going to need I was wondering if I could use a Crock pot. Can I? Thank you for any advice! Oh and I need to know by tomorrow. Thank you!

You can use a crock pot, the one time I did though I remember the initial melting down took a while. We had people waiting though, so may have just seemed really long. After that though, it worked great. =)

I know I'm too late for answering Smores, but wanted to agree that the initial melting time is looong! To speed things up, I melted the base in the microwave and then added it to the crock pot. Eventually I gave up on the crock pot, as it was really messy dipping the melted soap out. Next I bought one of those modified "Presto" pots, that have the teflon coating. It was great, until the Teflon coating started peeling off. I greatly regret trying to save money! Wish I'd bought the real thing with stainless lining (about $500+). Guess for now it's back to the microwave and pitcher.
