First of all Hello! Glad to find a forum of this level for soap making. I look forward to getting to know everyone.

Second, I have a question about Sticky Soap. I have to add soy milk to mine as it is a promotion for a company so I am adding 2% Soy per lb and then I am adding a tablespoon of scent per lb. I have to have 2% soy in order to call it Soy Soap and it has to be scented. From what I gather too much added liquid is my problem. Can anyone tell me how to work around this. I am using Brambleberrys RELAXING scent . . . which is awesome by the way.

I look forward to reading your responses.

Welcome!
2% soy milk will make any MP soap sticky. Why the 2%? You could add less and still call it soy soap.

Well I was told by a major company that that was what it had to be to be called soy soap, but obviously since it is sticky I will have to add less. Is soy milk and soy oil used the same way, just some prefer one over the other? I know some use goats milk powder. Is there such a thing for soy. It will be too late for this contract but will be good to know for the future.

Thanks for your input.

Technically, I can call my MP soap with mango butter added "Mango butter soap" and no one bats an eyelash. It's in there at less than 2%. Soy milk (in a small %) added might add more creaminess, whereas soy oil will negate some of the lather. I don't know about this major company, but if their base has to have 2% soy milk in it, they would be better off contracting with commercial soap places like SFIC and having them add the soy milk during saponification.
