Teach Soap

Hi all,

I was looking at making a mens shaving soap....

Has anyone ever made a shaving bar before.... if so what are so good recipes to start with?

There is a recipe posted somewhere here (where all the recipes are posted) on the main teachsoap site. Just add 1 tspn per pound of clay to your melt and pour soap base. I like using bentonite for added slip.

I wanted a little bit of lather in mine, (I don't think the men I know are quite ready to handle the concept of no lather just yet!) so I reduced the oils and added some (nice and mild, so as not to upset the skin of those sensitive boys) surfectants.

Remember if you're adding scent, (I use essential oils and aromatherapy in mine) that men have different skin to women... so generally for women's skin you'll want more moisturising and skin rejuvinating ingredients, and with men's you might want more anti-inflammatory and sebum balancing ones.
