Can I thinly coat the mold with a petrolium jelly? The first plastic mold I got from Brambleberry, I didn't line it in the begining and destroyed it after the first few usages trying to get the soap out (cold process). So now I line everything including M &P. But I thought maybe it would come out easily if I can coat it.....

You can also try just putting it in the freezer. I also try to get air all around my plastic molds before I try seriously getting them out of the mold.

How long do you let the soap cool before you unmold it? If you leave it long enough it should come out no problem with gentle pressure. Breaking the seal around the edges first makes it waaay easier than just pressing on it, too. :)

For cold process, it's easier if you use a recipe with oils or butters that have harder properties or add sodium lactate to your lye water. The freezer also helps to get CP soap out.
