im currently using silicone loaf molds and want to upgrade to a soap box with a cutter so i can get perfectly straight, measured bars.

any suggestions? i read not to use wood for melt and pour?

i dont want to spend an arm and a leg, but want something decent.

thanks <3

Someone put a pattern on here awhile back to make your own. You may want to search on the boards. They can be a bit pricey though and are a bit of a pain to deal with. I've had mixed results with mine and love my silicon mold. TO keep from having the cornered edges, I use a silicone bread mold that you can find at most kitchen shops.

Hmm...I actually have silicon molds and never had that issue. They all look like small rectangles but I use a mold that makes 4 soaps for my ones with cornered edges. The big trick I have found is giving them enough time to set and pouring them on a flat surface. If you like, I could show you the mold...

I wanted to add, that I had decided on the wooden mold for my MP soaps, as I so much prefer the classic rectangle look vs the ones from most silcone molds. I really dislike the angle of the silicone loaf mold. I have also been given many silicone molds that the part that gets poured into its edges are not clean/sharp, always having a rounded appearance on 3 edges, while the top/bottom has the edges desire.

I have the mini silicone loaf mold from WSP...I like my bars to be squared too- no angles/tapering. Here is a pic of my soap loaf...everything is uniform ( and no bowing). :)

I found this great one on Ebay, I read the rave reviews this guy makes them.
They are mold & a cutter all in one thsi set makes 10lbs of soap. I just love mine they are sturdy & easy to clean & work with http://cgi.ebay.com/Soap-Molds-22-BAR-6 ... 230a61b570
