ok. I have been making the mp soap for the past month and I am getting bored already. I don't know what ingredients to use in the soap to either make the soap beneficial or look pretty. my soaps smell wonderful but they look blah. can anyone make aby suggestions? thank you!!

Try visiting etsy or google other forums that post pictures to get inspired, something you would never have thought of. Useing decorative molds allows you to get very creative with all the different designs available such as a flower where you would color in the petals or leaves. :D

Do you have the SoapyLove book? There are many wonderful MP projects in there that should help get your creative juices flowing! I highly recommend picking up a copy.

I got a ton of M&P inspiring books from Amazon including the amazing Soapyloves book  Definitely full of ideas.

Have a search on google for 'Handmade/Handcrafted soaps' and it will bring up websites to look at. If you're on Facebook search for pages and groups with 'soap' in the title. Definitely have a look at buying some books. Watch Anne-Marie's videos (verry good and teach lots of stuff). Just search search search - the internet is very resourceful.

As for ingredients - check the store websites you find when googling things and look at their ingredients. Lots of ideas there too!

I second checking out Etsy etc... I also like to look through the thread 'New Project Showcase, Flaunt Yuor Stuff!' on here too ;)

I definitely second the suggestion to buy the Soapylove book. So far it is the only soap making book I own and I got Soooo much inspiration from it. Each project is step by step with instructions and easy to follow. She includes measurements in both ounces and grams which I found wonderfully helpful being in Australia and all of the projects not only teach you how to make a particular soap, but some very versatile techniques that can be easily customised for whatever you want to try and make. Amazon is good, but if you're outside the US, the Book Depository is excellent http://www.bookdepository.co.uk/book/97 ... /Soapylove

Also Anne Marie's tutorials are equally as invaluable!

Oh, no. Not me. I'm still pretty new to soap making and am really camera shy. I'll probably never be in any videos. I'm just really nerdy so I research a lot before I take on a new project. YouTube is a really nice resource.

I followed a link from this forum to the following website - http://www.peterpaiva.com.br/
Click on "Produtos"
I can't read any of the text on the site as it's all in Brazilian but the photos are unbelievable!! I've not made anything close to this intricate but I've got some inspiration that I've "dumbed down" to make myself!!
I do find it hard to believe that this guy sits at home busily making soaps but you never know!!! I find the ideas and colours absolutely mesmerising!
