Teach Soap

I have a goatsmilk rebatch..LOTS..and am dying to use it up so i can learn to make cp.
I thought this might be easy to start with since i never have made soap.
Its great soap.so soft and moisturizing.
It has a butterscotch color.
How can I color it or can I ?
I am tired of that same old color.
I put some olive oil and eucalyptus in the last batch.
I love it but it is a little soft after days of drying.
Too much olive oil???

Was the goat's milk rebatch a CP soap or M&P? As this is the M&P section I'm a bit confused as your description sounds like CP.

If it was a CP batch you should try and let it cure for 4-6 weeks and it should harden up by then. When using Olive oil in a CP recipe it tends to make the soap softer and usually requires a longer cure time to harden. You can grate it all up and then if the colour is a light butterscotch you can add whatever colour you want to it. I'd suggest using oxides of ultramarines. Once it's all grated put it in a pot with a bit of water and put your oven on to about 170 (haven't done this in awhile but think that is the temp I last used) and let it sit for a few hours. Check after one hour and give it a good stir. There are many ways to rebatch but this is the method I prefer. After it's all melted and the chunks have dissolved add scent (I eyeball but maybe a teaspoon or two depending on the size of the batch) and colour and pour into your mold.

If this is a M&P soap then it is a lot easier than what I've explained.

Sounds like goat's milk CP to me. If it is, how much oil did you add per lb. of soap? That could be why it's soft. As far as color it's more difficult due to the amber color of the soap.
