I took on too many projects tonight. One of which is a multi layered loaf. I'm on my next to last layer and I'm tired. So I'm not paying as much attention as I should be. I just started to pour the layer but didn't wait long enough and it sunk into the layer below it.

Is my whole loaf blown?

Will I know until I take it out tomorrow and cut it?

I only have 2 thin layers to go so I might as well finish it at this point, but I'm disappointed (in myself) and am desperately hoping I didn't just waste all those supplies.

Erin,

It's going to look super cool - I swear.

That's exactly what happened with this soap (above) and it turned out great - swirled and layered at the same time.

I think your soap is going to look great when it pops out of the mold.

Thanks for all the advice!!

The loaf came out semi-ok. The part where one layer drifted into another was in the middle ... so the ends are perfectly fine when sliced. The middle, to be honest, I haven't cut much of just yet but from what I can see of it, one white layer looks a bit bigger really and so its not perfect but its not a total failure either -- it looks "hand made" with its imperfection.

This loaf was a flag loaf -- I was trying my hand at the loaf that PJ showed in the American Flag contest thread.

Anne-Marie .. I'm seriously considering messing up my layers on purpose on something other than a flag to get one like you did - I adore how it came out!!
