Teach Soap

Hello everyone, I guess all we like to make soap, we see in the bar of soap a little more than just a bar whose ultimate purpose is to cleanse the skin, in many cases is a masterpiece, it's art and am sorry to use these bars, so I really question whether in the form of cupcake soaps are useful: I know to clean the skin well, but when you manage a useful cupcake to use are soaps or just to decorate? I want to know your opinion. This comes about because walking through Etsy I have seen these cupcake that I have liked very much, here I leave the link in case you are curious:

I have to say that I LOVE cupcake soaps! I think they look so cute and I just adore them. I had even planned a whole range of them.

However, you cannot sell them (or even make them or give them away) if you're in the EU. There is EU legislation that prohibits the sale (or manufacture or even presents) of any item that is food like but isn't food. Basically something that looks like food but isn't food - cupcake soaps being a prime example. This is to protect children and people who maybe aren't able to decide too well whether or not it's a cake or a soap and to ensure they are not damanged in anyway. Now the soap won't taste so good and they'd realise pretty quickly that it isn't cake but, by that time, the damage could be done.

So, as cute as they are and as much as you see them on American sites, in the EU they are a complete no no. Saying that, I have seen them on UK and EU based sites and they seem to get away with it - however, for me, I just couldn't risk it. I really wouldn't like my first taste of promotion having my company name associated with something illegal. It really is annoying and I was very pissed when I found out first but very grateful that I was told cos I was going to put good money into trying to sell the cupcake soaps and it could have been a real problem.

Honey you're right, here in Spain it is forbidden to sell soaps and such, everything about soaps that can be confused with food is prohibited; actually I've seen these precious and truth are so real you feel like eating. Honey you are quite right to me either, I would have problems committed to making these soaps.
Anyway I would like to make some for me or my friends and family are really beautiful but I keep wondering if one is to decorate or you can use, and if so are they easy to grab with your hand?

The mould I got was from ebay (an Australian girl - I can find the link if you'd like) and it took about 2 weeks to get here. It's a nice size, not too big or too small and it fits nicely in the hand. I'd have been very happy to make more soaps from it. Technically you'd actually prohibited from even giving the soaps away but how would they police that?

Like I said, if I could, I'd happily make them - they'd sell really well and people love them. I just wish I could make them but nope, the EU big brothers are watching

Honey anyway we can try to make some for friends or family or just to use us is that they are precious.
In my house there are molds that we use to make homemade muffins, if I am sending you a photo of the mold. Will not know if these molds.
