yesterday! I received their GM M&P base and just love it. I went ahead and ordered their all natural GM M&P base to see which one I like better. Either way, I'm addicted to their site now and keep finding more and more things on there I want to try (like their 3 in 1 body bubbles and room spray)! Just thought I'd share. If anyone's looking for a great GM base, try WSP!

I was really fortunate to find a soaping supply company that is local (to me). I purchase my cream/whipped soap base from them. It's great because I can drive there to pick up my supplies - saves a lot on shipping!

I ordered the GM base from WSP and have been satisfied thus far. Honestly, though, where do you not get gouged for shipping? I priced out a 25 ;b/ block of MP Base at Bramble Berry and here were my shipping options:

USPS: $61.98 <-- HUH?!?!?!
Fedex Ground: $33.33

Are you kidding me? The base costs $37.50. How in the world do you pay $33 for shipping???

Yes, I agree shipping is a pain in the rear! I can only imagine that they are going to get worse with the way the economy is! Remember though, FedEx, USPS and UPS all decide their own shipping costs. It is not up to us at all.... unfortunately!!!

Also - shipping costs are mostly calculated by the weight of the product and the distance that it is traveling. They don't really care how much it costs (unless it starts to get really expensive... then they add more).

USPS is a great option for items that are light or small. First class is great for things under a pound. Also we use USPS for people in Puero Rico, Alaska or Hawaii. However if you are in the Continental US and shipping something with some weight to it, then FedEx is usually the cheapest. =)

Also - shipping in bulk, or shipping more items at once can really cut down on the shipping costs. Instead of ordering one or two items wait a little bit until you have a longer list of items. Shipping 4 or 5 things will be cheaper in the long run! This is true no matter what or where you are ordering!

If I may add, (AOT) I think we should try to negotiate our shipping as much as we can. I priced 10bars of soap traveling 2day air to Las Vegas, my choice included 1 day for 30.00. This is with Fedex, long story short I ended up with the same one day, but ground, for 6 bucks and change.

I love them. Their products are really nice, they offer many natural alternatives, and they're fast. Watch out for specials. I think I just recieved an email about new, low shipping on the fragrance oils.

Shipping totally can be a bummer no matter where you order from for sure. It's easier to get cheaper shipping when you order over 150 pounds or more to get Fed Ex Hundredweight shipping (if your vendor offers that service). It's just lots of money to ship heavy boxes, no matter who you're shipping with.

You can always confirm rates at www.fedex.com, www.ups.com and www.usps.com And, for even more fun, you can look up the for-profit reports of Fed Ex and UPS to see what % profit they are making. Last year, Fed Ex made 5.3% (pre-tax) so I'm not sure who is making all the money on shipping, but I'm not sure it's Fed Ex either =)
