I have seen a recipe for soap that uses coffee grounds but can't seem to find it now that I want to try it! Does anyone have or know where I can find such a recipe? I'd like to try them in my GM base.

Thanks!

Cindy, I am a newbie at this, but I did make some coffee soap. I got a recipe off www.thesage.com. However, the triple strength brewed coffee that I used for the water didn't come through. I would suggest buying a coffee fragrance & adding coffee grounds. I added the coffee grounds but I used orange/mocha fragrance and right now all I'm smelling is the mocha which is nice, but not the coffee/mocha smell I had in mind.

Depending how scrubby you want the soap to be, start with a tsp. of coffee grounds per lb. of soap.

Thanks for the link spottedcat. I have so many soap recipe pages bookmarked but somehow I missed that one!

I don't drink coffee but I think that may have to be one of my soon to make soaps

you are very welcome Jola, yes, even though you don't drink coffee, I have heard that the coffee soap will eliminate onion smells & garlic smells from your hands (not that I'm a gourmet cook) but I do cook

hmm, i don't know that I would add a coffee scent, but I always make my coffee soap with freshly ground coffee. rather than brewing it. it nicely colors the soap, and makes a cute bar if you layer with a white base. you'll get a nice color and exfoliation and a gentle kitchen-type of scent should do the trick. (for me that is..)
