Teach Soap

I am new to soaping, but i have been using saran wrap to wrap my soaps and then putting them in cello bags to sell. Every once in a while i have one that ends up looking "fuzzy" that can be wiped off. I use goats melk and glycerin, do these need to sit before they are wrapped when unmolded, or wrap immediately. Also, do i need to let a potential customer know this may happen if bathroom is humid? Thanks for any info!

Do you mean it is sweating with glycerin dew when you say "fuzzy"? Yes, it can happen even though you've wrapped it tightly with a saran-type film in very humid climate. The soap can also continue to sweat for a few days after using and leaving in a soap dish...after a while, it will stop. I let my clients know that it may sweat but it is nothing to worry about. They don't seem to mind and I hope your recipients don't mind either! Best wishes

I've had MP soaps get fuzzy, even here in the desert that has no humidity. I completely shrink wrap my soaps as soon as they completely cooled off. That helps.

I just noticed that you are adding extra glycerin. That is a part of your problem. MP soaps already have glycerin and more is not needed.

Newb here, just reading and researching as much as I can before getting started. "Shrink wrap"- Do you need a special machine, thinking the air tight sealing machine that's used for meat and such for longer freezer life?

Sorry, I haven't made a thing yet, and I'm already thinking of ways to keep my future pretties pretty (hopefully).

Naturally I'll be starting with M&P, as much as I would love all the unique and diverse fun that CP/HP can offer, I'm not sure I'll ever get over the fear of lye. Maybe I will one day, but as it is, I stear clear from oven cleaner, and I imagine the fumes would be similar. I don't know, I wish I wasn't a scared cat.
