I have all my stuff for my first M & P, but I have a few questions. Because of the sweat factor I am not going put in additional oils. These are supposed to be a Mother's Day gift.

1. How long can I leave the soaps in the mold? Just until they are hard to the touch?

2. If I wrap new soaps in plastic film immediately after unmolding, can I shrink wrap later. I have limited power. Hair dryers, irons, anything with a heating element takes too much power. I can take soaps to town and use a heat gun, but it might be a few days.

3. When I buy glycerine based soaps in town none of them say they are prone to sweating or that it is normal for this type of soap to weap. Do folks who sell glycerine based soaps tell their customers that the soap they just purchased will weap? I guess I need to tell Mom so she doesn't think there is something wrong with homemade/handmade soap.

Any tips for a first time soaping is most welcome!
Thanks

Welcome Wanda!
Leave the soap in the mold just long enough til it's hard enough to unmold.
It is best to wrap the soap as soon as they are completely cool.
If you use plastic film, you don't need to shrink wrap them later.
There are different types of MP glycerin soap bases.
Some tend to sweat more then others, especially if you live in an area that has humidity.
You can buy a low sweat base and use that instead.
